Jaguars add defensive tackle from the Titans

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed unrestricted free agent defensive tackle Sen’Derrick Marks to a one-year contract, the club announced today. 

 Marks, 6-2, 294, spent the last four seasons with the Tennessee Titans after being selected in the second round of the 2009 draft, the 62nd overall pick overall.  He has played in 51 games with 26 starts and totaled 180 tackles (85 solo), three sacks, 23 quarterback pressures and 12 tackles for loss.  The Mobile, Alabama native registered career-best totals in 2012 with the Titans, starting a career-high 14 games and recorded 63 tackles (31 solo), 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble.  He posted at least five tackles in seven games.

Marks started 37 of 40 games at Auburn and declared for the NFL Draft following his junior season.  His collegiate totals included 114 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 30 tackles for loss and 10 quarterback pressures. He earned second-team All-SEC honors in his final season and ranked among the league’s leaders with 10 tackles for loss.  He attended Vigor High School in Prichard, Ala., where he lettered in football and basketball.  He is the oldest of eight children, with the youngest being 12 years old.
